Description

The Pollino chain and the wonderful colors of the lavender park in a single tour.

Meeting with the guide and transfer to the Lavender Park. You can admire the “Loricanda”, the lavender native to the Pollino National Park.

The real lavender, in fact, is a plant that grows wild in the entire area of the mountains of Calabria and Lucania, at altitudes between 900 and 1700 meters above sea level, particularly common in the area of Campotenese.

The plants, in the suggestive Park, mix neatly among them creating pleasant borders characterized by intense scents and interesting chromatic contrasts: all this creates a pleasant place not only for the eyes but also for the sense of smell.

At the end of the walk, transfer to the historical centre of Morano Calabro, a characteristic village, built like a pyramid on a hill in front of Mount Pollino. It developed around a small fortress whose ruins are now identified with the Norman-Swabian Castle.

Visit the characteristic Church of the Maddalena, the cloister of the Convent of San Bernardino and the Naturalistic Museum of the Nibbio which recreates the environment and nature of the Pollino National Park.
